In the state of New York, ionizing radiation used for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes must be applied by a professional practitioner that is licensed by, and registered with the New York State Department of Health's Bureau of Environmental Radiation Protection. JRCERT

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) is the only agency recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), for the accreditation of traditional and distance delivery educational programs in radiography, radiation therapy, magnetic resonance, and medical dosimetry.

ASRT

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) is the premier professional association of people working in medical imaging and radiation therapy. NYSSRS

The New York State Society of Radiologic Sciences (NYSSRS) promotes the elevation of radiologic science and medical imaging professions. The NYSSRS is a State Affiliate of the ASRT and promotes excellence in education and the highest standards in patient care.
